Very useful to have this to share around. Timely as well, as we (and many others) are redesigning field programmes to both lower environmental impact and increase accessibility.

One suspects many expensive overseas trips are run for the benefit of staff not students. Is it really the case that the same educational goals cannot be achieved in a country with such a diverse geology as the UK or nearby low cost European destinations?

I think that may have sometimes been the case in the past, but less so now. Agree with
@ButlerLabBham@seis_matters et al that places like Utah offer unique opportunities (eg with regard to palaeo) that can’t really be replicated in the UK or Europe. - Još 3 druga odgovora
