    This is an excellent thread & it absolutely applies to sound design. It took me years to learn to not be defensive when getting criticism. Also when I give feedback I always start with a compliment about a specific detail. It puts the recipient at ease

    This is to anyone engaged in creative work that sometimes involves asking for feedback from a peer. Because even when we ask for it, sometimes feedback is hard to process in a way that serves us.

    We lost a true legend of sound in cinema with the passing of Alan Murray. Multiple academy awards and nominations, a tireless dedication to the importance of sound in cinema and a commanding presence with a dry wit, Alan made us all lucky to be considered friends and colleagues.

    We finally experienced MANK, & then I checked out this great interview. It’s nice to hear this quote from Ren, “When you get into the world of reverb, it can be a confusing place”. He’s one of the smartest people in & he has to overcome obstacles like the rest of us
