‘Dude is screwed’. Yeah thats not how this works. Nothing will happen to him. He’ll be back tomorrow, and why not? Eventually the store will close and the community as a whole will suffer.

You got it backwards. Poverty leads to crime and places where poverty are reduced (by government aid and pro worker laws) see a reduction in crime also

The data on that is the opposite of your claim. Areas with high poverty do not all have high crime. Areas with high crime are all impoverished.
