      Health Nerd Retweeted Tim Noakes

This statement is very simply factually inaccurate It is also perfectly emblematic of the issues with LCHF diet advocateshttps://twitter.com/ProfTimNoakes/status/999340055268294657 …

      Health Nerd added,

      Tim Noakes @ProfTimNoakes
It's clear that majority of people following current dietary guidelines in "industrialised" countries will develop prediabetes/T2DM by age 60. That's simply the evidence. Only scientifically-proven way to prevent this, is to follow the LCHF eating plan (see @virtahealth) https://twitter.com/Feline13579/status/999338681180794882 …

We already have > 50% adults in the USA with Type 2 Diabetes or pre diabetes so the statement is correct. I think you need to check your facts, and your attitude is emblematic of having your head in the sand.

Sorry, just to check, are you agreeing that the majority (>50%!!!) of people who correctly adhere to the dietary guidelines will develop T2DM before 60?

I'm interested to see the robust long-term follow up demonstrating that people who CORRECTLY FOLLOW dietary guidelines are getting diabetes at rates we currently only see in very disadvantaged communities

Even the creators of the current US dietary guidelines admit that the guidelines suck.

As we keep being told, no one follows them. So you can blame the patient or give everyone 800K meal replacement or let them journey back to a diet more like they ate before they were given advice that they can't follow and in the process increase diabetes 700%. You blame patient

Where is the right in anything you have said or published? "People would be fine if they just followed the guidelines", which they can't do! The evidence is that in RCTs low fat is the worst option in any case, so they are an abject failure on all fronts. Its the patients fault??

As ever, I said none of those things. You made some incorrect assertions, and are now trying to draw me into an argument with straw men to deflect. Not interested.

The less you say on diet front the better, its a serious issue and blindly standing up to the conventional dietary dogma, without looking closely at the facts, is not helping anyone
