It doesn't need to be a desert, aboriginals returning to natural diet lost diabetes in 6 weeks. It's not about calories. Very low carb is fasting mimicking without the damaging starvation!

The point is that you are assuming that it is lack of food that is the answer rather than the quality of the food. The calorie model is clearly broken when VLC diets can reduce liver fat 50% in 2 weeks with no weight loss, if you force feed them to maintain weight that is.

People were not obese when food was plentiful in the past, your mindset is that obesity is only cured by starvation and that is not a healthy way to view it. You need to step back from the CICO model & see how silly, unhealthy, and useless low calorie diets are. Nerds dig deeper
