I honestly don't think that's true at all. Certainly politicians do, in particular conservative politicians, but I don't know a single person who works in public health who thinks that 'personal responsibility' is a key factor in health
Generally speaking...experts in the area, ideally based on evidence. I think the way the NHMRC comes to most of their conclusions (including clinical research) is a pretty workable way to go about it

I went through that phase. There is so much literature too that is just hidden....again frustrating bc much is written by dietitians who do great critical research, then seem to just “drop out of the profession” The people who stay....well, the bond over “blaming Pete”

Qs 1. If we took all studies that were sponsored by food industry directly or indirectly, what is left? 2. If we accepted ONLY level B evidence and above, what would we have? As AH has said - ADG began with “not science” the science was post-script...self-perpetuating?

Why is it necessary for anyone to tell anyone else how to eat? We somehow managed not to eat dirt or chairs before the guidelines came about. We might be able to manage without them now.
