I love when journalists make a big deal about something being published in a "peer-reviewed SCIENTIFIC journal" because I recently read a series of journal articles that were basically one man's diatribe against current diabetes nomenclature

I feel like more people need to realize that "peer-review" basically means that an editor and 3 other scientists think you deserve to be published

At least we've got the journalists this far. Next step is going to be more difficult for several reasons: getting them to realise not all published papers are equal. Certainly don't want them thinking you can dismiss research because you don't like the findings.
