#phdlife #phdchat when you think you’re starting to win..... you find out you’re really losing. Why is even this simple systematic review a challenge? How did a paper get missed? Major #impostersyndrome right now. Am I capable? My supervisors probably think not....

I feel like there's no such thing as a simple systematic review. I'm starting my own one for my PhD and I can easily see missing a paper!

I just don’t get it! I encountered the study as protocol only and listed as “current” but this paper from it was published in 2015. How did it get missed?! I suspect my primary supervisor will think I’m a total idiot. She’s not responded to the emails yet but has to another email

Naaaah I reckon that's totally reasonable. If you see a protocol you won't naturally assume something's been published, and often the keywords change significantly from version to version

Also I feel like if the primary supervisor of your PhD thinks that you're an idiot then they made the wrong choice to be your supervisor!

I suffer with super bad #impostersyndrome I’m sure the issue is more mine than my supervisor’s. But it is getting better, whilst I’m anxious I’m not catastrophising which is definitely progress! Glad to talk to another PhD buddy though! Hope yours is going well!!

I love this passage on imposter syndrome from @neilhimself, it's certainly got me through some tough meetings. I feel like catastrophising and PhDs go together hand in hand lolpic.twitter.com/Rgsn5Vaq1q

Wow! I love that! Nice to know we’re in good company. It blows my mind that Neil Armstrong would feel like this too. He actually HAS done something. It gives me hope that one day I will do something too! :)

Look, maybe it's just me, but I reckon being a public health reg counts as doing something
