Apparently autoimmune disease is at "epidemic proportions" but you can put it into remission with dietary changes! I'm sure immunologists will be glad to hear thatpic.twitter.com/acFcmPdKAn
If you've never heard of the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol then you're probably one of most doctors because it's not actually a thingpic.twitter.com/Ci7xpYyDUe
It turns out that all those pesky autoimmune conditions are linked by one simple trait! Who'd have thought???pic.twitter.com/oWrIjQ00S5
Yes, leaky gut is the common cause of all autoimmune disease even those totally unrelated to intestinal actionpic.twitter.com/eg6WOlg26h
Some more lovely pseudoscientific waffle about leaky gut ("immune response!" "Intestinal barrier!" "Bacteria and food waste"-wow she must be a scientist!)pic.twitter.com/nEqD1nzTa9
Take home: if you're largely asymptomatic and your tests are fine, never fear! Chances are you're still actually sick and need this dietpic.twitter.com/r7WausYrpR
The rest of the book is filled with more wonderful nuggets of nonsensepic.twitter.com/xsdICwyYNm
It's a bit of a shame really because most of the recipes looked great, they were just couched in nonsense
Aaargh, this stuff is the bane of my existence. Whenever the lead US patient/disease group for my chronic illness posts on these kinds of things, I am all 'STOP. There is no evidence for any of this shit.' Yes, I am that person.
Hurray for being that person! It's gotten to the point where my friends half-glance at me whenever they make medical claims because apparently I'm just that annoying
