I have not read the book, so can't comment, but I think you should live up to the "Nerd" title and spend some time on pubmed before you label things as nonsense. There is lots of emerging evidence of the power of diet on autoimmune conditions.
Mmm but even if there's strong evidence of which I'm not aware for specific indications, the idea that all autoimmune conditions are caused by intestinal leakage and that this can be fixed with a paleo diet seems to be entirely unsupported
