Why are "proportions" always "epidemic"? Especially when those who say it want to convey that the condition they're trying to scare us with is "endemic"? And, while we're on "epi" why do they say "epicentre" when they mean "centre. Trying to impress with scientificy words.
I imagine it's hard to sell cookbooks with the phrase "rates of autoimmune disease are largely stable at about 6% of the population" like the CDC does
