Excellent piece by
@GidMK as always. As someone who once had the responsibility for Biosafety in a modern research active university some of the “Rogue” stuff scares the bejasus out of me. As 4 the Mages-They just seem 2 be profiteering nerds who’ve had 1 too many kale shakes

Thanks glad you liked it
I agree wholeheartedly. The mage guys mostly just seem like alt med cranks, but the rogues are seriously scary when you think of the potential for large-scale harm - Show replies

What do you think of the “citizen scientists”? Someone i respect posted a video interviewing a CS low CHO athlete who checked his LDLs all the time, “proving” LDLs can change daily. Admittedly, he said he was a “responder” & called for more research. But..ev 3 days?!
-
I think that a lot of people wildly overestimate how easy health/medicine is and that leads them to do silly things like check LDL daily or take subclinical doses of lithium to feel "balanced"

I touch on this in *Hacking Life: Systematized Living and its Discontents*: How do otherwise smart people manage to fool themselves?
