I think the framing of obesity as a transmissable disease is off, even with the best of intentions. It's much more complicated than passing it on person-to-person

I agree. Obesity & NCDs challenge the basic assumptions of the models we use in PH to talk about disease. I don't think grasping at disease language is going to do much good.

Agree with you both on the risks of stigmatizing individuals. Also sympathise with Tim's expression that so far language hasn't helped. I'd like to stigmatize corporate behaviour that makes for toxic food environments (e.g. marketing to kids, profiting hugely off sugary drinks)
