There cannot be an increase in cancer. Because then I would look like a sociopath if I adopted a political stance that did nothing to help curb any such cancer increase, and I still like to get laid occasionally so I pretend to be a master statistician.

While childhood cancer makes up a tiny fraction of total cancer rates, the small increase in incidence in the last 30-odd years isn't well understood It's probably related to a wide range of environmental exposures, but pinning down which one is hard

Of course, the enormous drop in childhood mortality over the same period has also likely driven cancer up as a cause of death. It is somewhat rare for kids to die of infectious disease these days
