Bit of a straw man of my position. I am cautiously optimistic about the potential benefits in epilepsy treatment. Wrote about it herehttp://observer.com/2017/06/medical-marijuana-chemotherapy-epilepsy/ …

The review you site in this article suggests no reliable conclusions can be drawn at present but more research is needed.

Replying to @someguyhooper @braddybb
Pretty much. Firm conclusions about benefit are misleading, but harms have been quite robustly demonstrated. Hence my caution

No causal link demonstrated for psychosis. Cochrane review ignores Israeli research.

There is a strong and consistent association between psychosis and cannabis use. It ~may~ still turn out to be coincidence, but it is extremely unlikely. And unless you have a specific criticism of the Cochrane methodology, by design they did not ignore any research

It is correlated certainly. But correlation does not causation prove. Link also beween tobacco use and psychosis.

It is true that correlation does not equal causation, but a number of RCTs have demonstrated similar risks. There is also a very plausible biological pathway for damage to the brain. It's not definitive, but it's very unlikely that psychosis is not caused by cannabis use

Tell that to Hart et al at Columbia. Totally debunked that myth.

I do not believe that a single paper by Hart or colleagues could be described as "debunking that myth". Rather, they argue for a nuanced understanding of the shared risks while admitting that cannabis confers a definite risk to long-term executive brain functioning
