That reminds me of a thought I had - what if a foreign country's definition of "citizenship" is different from an Australian one?

All turns on what the word 'citizen' means in the Constitution (which predated Australian citizenship anyway.) In Xenophon's case, the Court held that his 'British Overseas Citizenship' wasn't citizenship for the purposes of s44.
