Even though there are a lot of questions that you just can't really answer with quantitative methods

Venn diagrams I find difficult to represent "weighting" of each - but worth a play

Qual researchers I also find defensive bc they're still pitching themselves against quant - we are competing, we are aligning, partners

So our methodologies are also beginning to limit our own scope - "why can't I write what I did rather than retro fitting it to a label?

Yeh I think that too often the objective truth is seen as the only goal, when sometimes it's pretty much impossible to be objective

"What to eat to achieve optimal human health" is one of those questions. Although, if we reframe "health" it'll give a clue

This is also the point where we throw in "it's complex" - complexity is what science is there for, if we apply it without agenda

We need to soften the edges on our hierarchy of science - let others in. Starting point - I have a pic....can you cope?

Haha I can try. But I disagree that we need to soften the hierarchy, because I think it works for quantitative research perfectly

I think the fundamental issue is that people try to compare qual and quant as if they are the same and it's just not true

And then you get qual "systematic reviews" and it's just trying to copy ideas into a system that needs something different

Agree x infinity!! And qual is NOT competing - they are symbiotic. *ffs*
