(Hint: freedom of movement. Also I'm not sure where in the US constitution it says you have the right to concealed semi-automatics

Is that an enumerated right? “Keep and bear arms”

Privileges and Immunities clause. And where in those 4 words do you think the whole concealed-carry/semi-auto thing lies?

Ah, so in 1791 when they wrote "keep and bear arms" what they MEANT was "carry around concealed rifles that haven't been invented yet"

Rifles are difficult to conceal and semi automatic rifles were issued to the Austrian Army in 1780. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girandoni_air_rifle …

Ah yes, the 1779 rifle that's perfectly analogous to a modern semi-automatic. Sure thing.

The 1779 semi automatic rifle. Are you arguing members of the 1st Congress did not understand how firearms improve over time.

Um, that example was not semi-automatic. It was repeating - you had to point the gun in the air after every shot

You’re correct but point stands, firearm evolution was well understood.

In what sense? True semi- and full-auto guns wouldn't be produced until 150 years' later. That's quite a massive reach you're proposing

95 years after 2A for 1st semi auto. Smooth bore, long rifles, self repeating rifles, ... Small arms were and had been improving regularly.

So why not clearly write that into 2A. Just say "bear and keep arms, concealed or otherwise, now and invented in the future, at all times"?
