DES was prescribed until 1971 in this country. When it was found to cause cancer in humans, it was used with cattle.

That's right: when a med sold to pregnant women was found harmful, it was marketed to the FOOD PRODUCTION INDUSTRY. Exposure continued.

The FDA outlawed use of DES by humans in 1971. It was sold in veterinarian market until 1979. Eight additional years of human exposure.
