Now any increase in depression is cause for concern, but it doesn't sound so shocking when it's reported as a .5% increase.

Not a single article I can find has mentioned that the increase in hospitalizations was only .02%, again concerning but hardly calamitous

Absolutely, my point is that reporting increases as 20-200% rather than .02-.5% makes the problem sound much scarier.

It's not as scary when you hear an increase of 1 person taking antidepressants for every 300 people treated, for example.
