I linked a graph for rates now. Also, gun laws came in in 96, there was no lag.

"violent crime" is obviously an absurdly broad stat to use. Too many factors.

its less absurd than gun deaths considering that includes non violent influences

But since gun control causally influences suicide rates it's an excellent stat.
