Ivermectin is highly effective against Strongyloides. Strongyloides can cause fatal hyperinfection when someone chronically infected (w strongyloides) is given steroids.

Considering this is a pandemic of a steroid responsive lung injury-causing virus, it seems like it would be a good time for ivermectin MDAs in endemic, and certainly hyperendemic regions. And we can then do our best to track covid numbers and control confounders.

Another interesting point - I don't believe I've seen a single RCT that's even tested for this - could apparent effects in some RCTs be down to this rather than an improvement in covid per se?
