If we don’t get better vaccines, I don’t see how urban areas will maintain their density in current form. I am not sure we could ever improve ventilation enough on mass transit to make it low risk. Perhaps if there are advances in Far-UVC.
Natural infection provides robust protection especially combined with vaccine. We live with some amount of risk every single day if our lives. We will ALL eventually be exposed to it in the next few years, sorry to burst your bubble ;)
