He did say that, the columnist of "The Guardian". Who ever in the media ever smeared this guy as they did to others? No, they actually hire him despite publishing things like that.

This is what he published. Where does the 50x number come from (it is obviously wrong and not in line this paper)https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10654-020-00698-1 …

The 50x number came from a blog post where I made the point that if you compare death rates with serologically-derived infections as the denominator and confirmed deaths as the numerator (as we do for COVID-19), the number is many times lower for influenza

The point was that we are never comparing apples with apples when it comes to COVID-19 and influenza mortality, but people like to ignore that for the dunks. It's much easier than engaging with the actual argument

Yes it should be noted that the denominator for the often cited .1% Flu IFR (source USA CDC) is symptomatic disease. This study shows almost 50% of infections are asymptomatic which would cut IFR to .05%.https://www.thelancet.com/journals/langlo/article/PIIS2214-109X(21)00141-8/fulltext …

We have already discussed this several times. You are being stubborn and unwilling to acknowledge basic facts. How many flu deaths are attributed to pneumonia? How many are attributed to heart disease? The real IFR of flu is in the 0.1% to 0.2% range, depending on the strain.

This just demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of how the number of influenza deaths is calculated. It's a pretty complex modelling process that includes deaths not attributed to influenza, because we rarely test for the flu in a normal year

Answer 2 questions for me please and try to be honest: 1/ If we did mass testing every year for flu, like we are doing for CV now, and finding the
in people’s noses, how many more deaths would’ve been attributed to flu?
2/ How is life in the National Socialist Rep. of Aus.?7 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

Those are dishonest questions. Please see this Wikipedia entry for reference:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leading_question …

Dishonest question?? It is true that there is mass testing of Covid and not influenza, and merely testing positive to Covid weeks back often yields a "Covid death" with little or no Covid symptoms. I've even read about car accidents. I think you can just answer as you wish.

No that is incorrect, happy to clarify

At least in USA they dont do any mass testing for influenza. Maybe in Australia? Not sure what has been clarified, really.
