Today I've been sent what looks like real data collected by real doctors, and I say that because it looks very much like a keyboard-happy 4 year old has gone wild at a paper spreadsheet with his crayons and glue and someone uploaded that onto Excel

Doctors are way too busy to do the endless, tedious, time-consuming job of managing data quality. They save lives and shit, I just clean spreadsheets

Lack of training and funding play some role in that. We are not trained for that and due to lack of funding we can’t afford data manager. Our institute doesn’t have a data manager.

No one has access to a data management person. We work in the public health system. Lucky to even have access to an office or computer, let alone a whole another person to help us.

Big gap between what's available to doctors both in training, let alone support, and what is expected of them. People with these skills are rare and not available. We need HUGE investment in data services in healthcare to be honest.
