Yes, but once they have a big enough data base it improves. At this point in time I wouldn't say it's wildly inaccurate either.

But people in the general public don't understand genetics, so don't really know how to interpret what the information is telling them.

Add: Despite means of calculating probable relation, they're marketed as a tool for cultural identity and community belonging, which they're simply incapable of. It can be quite offensive, particularly for comms affected by invasion, forced breeding, forced assimilation, et al

They also disproportionately underrepresent and misrepresent these and other groups without historic record keeping, or whose records were destroyed, fabricated, erroneous, etc, due to their "known ancestry" flagging.
