Agree that you can rarely say much from 44 patients. But this study doesn't really show no benefit whatsoever? Sure, p>0.05 for the test of null association. But p>0.05 for a halving in mortality as well. And p>0.05 for a 50% increase in mortality.https://www.bmj.com/content/311/7003/485 …
