Fortnightly means twice per month (well roughly...it is every 2 weeks)

The worst example of this sort of colloquialism imo is that "next [x]day" to me growing up in England meant literally the next one of that day, but in Australia sometimes means a week from the next time that day occurs which has caused much confusion over the last two decades

Yeah, I think here is more often means that day next week, but for some it does mean the very next of those days.

Actaully I think it can mean 1. The very next one of X day 2. X day next week 3. A week from the next of X day (I use it with the 2nd definition)

I think I mostly use the next day unless that day is within 1-2 days of today in which case I would assume next week. Colloquialisms are a headache
