Now that Laurel Hubbard has failed to win at the Olympics, I guess all the bad-faith nonsense about transgender athletes dominating women's sport will be entirely revised? Right?

Well, we could. But I'm not very interested in the topic of trans athletes in women's sports. I'll leave that to those that are. I just don't think arguing on the basis of a single example (which could be an outlier) is scientifically convincing.

I also don't find "people who say x are arguing in bad faith" to be, in itself, a refutation of x. We shouldn't take our information from headline writers. I know: I'm an editor. I write headlines sometimes. :)

The rules under which Hubbard competed (reassignment surgery not required, testosterone supression for 1yr) were adopted in 2016, too late for Rio. Not sure if you're trying to mislead people on purposehttps://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/jan/25/ioc-rules-transgender-athletes-can-take-part-in-olympics-without-surgery …
