Something worth noting - no matter how you look at it, the research community has royally fucked up when it comes to ivermectin

Yes, there are endless terrible trials, but we've had 18 months. WE COULD'VE RUN GOOD TRIALS We didn't. That is woeful, and frankly inadequate

We spent endless billions researching hydroxychloroquine, and knew by August 2020 that it didn't work, but ivermectin which has been given to 100s OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE...still no answer. Shameful

And the worst part is that this all seems to be because ivermectin was mostly used in low-income areas, and most research has been done in high-income areas. Until British doctors started advocating for it, ivermectin was ignored

I couldn’t agree more. In special situations like this, it’s often as important to trial a drug that you hypothesise might not work that well. A large amount of the value of trials like RECOVERY has been in showing what doesn’t work, even if what has worked grabs all headlines.

Didn't ivermectin get used in large part as a response to the surgisphere paper before that fraud got discovered? What is it about ivermectin that would have justified a large scale trial? Is it just because of its non evidence based 'popular support'?

Ivermectin was ruled out for use in Canada in May of 2020 because data was of low quality.

Didn't realize this was a fast-grants initiative. Can we clone this for other drugs (ivermectin)?

Do the study and rule it in, or rule it out. Sick of the antivaxxers going on about it.
