This may mean that school itself is a driver of suicidal behavior in teens, which honestly does not seem overly far-fetched

Obviously, it is impossible to know if this is in any way causal, but it is a strong counter to the narrative that school closures have caused teen suicides to skyrocket

Wow the weaponising of mental health to refute lockdowns has been really disturbing. Especially when compared to the loss of a family member or being classed as vulnerable.

I wonder how much extra sleep teenagers got during the pandemic. Extra sleep is great all around.

I have long thought that teenagers would have improved educational outcomes and mental health if we started high schools at 930am rather than 730am. But the hours are for the convenience of parents and for after school sports.

Completely unsurprising considering the school environment is somewhere teens have less choice in who they come into contact/interact with, and fairly rife with bullying irrespective of socioeconomic status or country.
