When people say that non-randomized evidence is somehow superior to randomized trials, worth considering the reasons we run RCTs in the first place

I had no idea people *were* arguing for non-randomised trials

Reductionism is the RTC could well be the reason its not better. In a RTC truffles don't exist, Why because the creation of a truffle requires a synergistic effect from 2 species of trees and a bacterium. In short when you "remove the variables" you also can remove the effect.

In the mask debate, people aren't saying they aren't the best evidence, but that they are unfeasable.

Mostly because they are poorly run? I know you put it in the tweet, but THAT should be stressed a bit more. Also because approvals had been rushed before finishing said trials? So instead, now you have population wide evidence.
