Ugh, it's gotten hard to write again. The stories either feel way too big or too small Sigh

Amen. I'm feeling the same. It's hard to write even the "easy" stories, and right now, there is so much to write that I can't organize the writing or my thoughts.

I vacillate between writing too much and not feeling the writing at all. It's a weird thing, this pandemic

Been there. Maybe grab one of those big stories and split it up into a series or something? Focus on one aspect each entry?

Tbh, it's not that it's more work - the impact is going to be bigger. Literally world-changing stuff, and there's more than one of them

How about some evolutionary biology? In the UK we have self-isolate for 10 days if we're near a sick person But track & trace takes time to find us So this may stop slow-burning mild strains but, often, not the fast-acting pathogenic ones 5 days betterhttps://twitter.com/PatrickSSte/status/1412753230791069706 …

I've suddenly understood three things that've been bothering me: Why so many surges terminate so abruptly; the recent India surge is extraordinary - India's a big country. Why only one peak? Why CoV-2 has remained so aggressive for so long What we can do about it /1

Stories just go out of date so damn fast in this pandemic. I'm starting to do writing more as 'this will serve as a historical record of this little moment' and remain a true reflection of what we thought at the time rather than trying to ride the news waves

This is a simple question I'm asking people who cite that study (a.k.a. Ioannidis' Axfors study): Is the age-specific IFR from Axfors a low outlier that's even lower than O'Driscoll et al.? https://twitter.com/AtomsksSanakan/status/1409562949715378183 … https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.07.08.21260210v1.supplementary-material … pic.twitter.com/1AUsVFGBFs

Please don’t digress - exert your medfluencer responsibility and stay on the subject of Australia’s brilliant lockdown strategy (you have no other reason to be out there)
