I’m in the UK & keep hearing government advisers going public saying “we just don’t know enough about the risks & benefits of vaccinating adolescents.” I would respectfully disagree. With almost 9 million 12-17 year olds vaxxed in the US, we can say: benefits >>>>>>>>> riskshttps://twitter.com/ENirenberg/status/1412434231108722688 …

New MMWR just posted regarding myocarditis and COVID-19 mRNA vaccines: https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/pdfs/mm7027e2-H.pdf … The key point is in this table (estimated using COVID-19 rates on the week of 05/22/2021 going forward 120 days): Benefits >>>>> risks pic.twitter.com/u7ZM7dwXob

Am I reading this wrong? In 12-17 y old boys benefit is 2 deaths avoided versus a cost of 25-50 myocarditis cases w a death rate (?) of 25-50 per cent ?!?!!

Yes, that's not right. The figure for myocarditis includes peri and myopericarditis, and there has yet to be a death recorded from vaccine-associated myocarditis in the US I believe (i.e. death rate <1/330)

A humogous amount of relevant benefits incl public good are of course missing from this table. But departing from its narrow scope, the fatality rate for myoxxx, perxxxx etc have to be very very low for 12-17y old boys for break even ie its not ‘ b >>>>>>>>> c‘ - right?

Yes. Fortunately, it does appear to be very very low

.@JHowardBrainMD has been carefully documenting the numbers & might be able to give us an update. In adolescents, myocarditis from Covid is more common than from the vaxx, and it is more severe/dangerous.https://www.healio.com/news/cardiology/20210528/ahaasa-benefits-of-vaccination-far-exceed-the-very-small-rare-risks …

I must stress that the table of course has a way too narrow definition of benefits. But still, the fatality rate and ‘long myo/peri etc’ for 12-17 y old boys is a little interesting.
