Obviously, this does not mean outdoors is entirely without risk, but the risk appears to be extremely low

@DrLindaDykes useful info re outdoor risks with the Delta variant -
Not sure you can make that presumption. Is there sufficient, if any, delta infection in Oz to make that conclusion? I doubt it. I believe there has been quite a number of cases of Delta transmission in outdoor environs.

Regardless of the efficacy of wearing masks outdoors enforcing them reinforced the seriousness and contagiousness of covid. It's easy to forget social distancing (especially when you're allowed 10 people ) Wearing masks has now become second nature which is surely a good thing?

Counter-point: Outdoors masking obfuscates the risk associated with spending time indoors.

Looks like I’m running out of excuses not to sunbathe nude. Oh yeah it’s bloody cold in Melbourne right now

I agree that being outdoors has far less COVID transmission risk although it is when you go from outdoors to indoors -especially public bathrooms and small coffee shops that the risk is actually high. These indoor visits often occur when exercising outdoors without a mask.
