This paper was recently published, arguing that vaccines cause as much death as they prevent and so we should stop vaccinating people I rarely say this, but it is truly awful and should be retracted as soon as possible 1/npic.twitter.com/A6vSJsEtn3

Just happened to check the paper an hour ago! Wow, just wow! It's really bad. Not sure what's best to do there. I mean the fact that it got published is... surprising!
If surprising means totally unacceptable and a shame for the whole scientific community, well... yes.
Not a scientist, so I don't know if editors resigning is how it works, but wouldn't it have been more effective if they had worked within to have the article retracted? Doesn't it mean there are now just fewer eds who care about articles with scientific integrity?
No. This is a private, for profit journal that can completely bypass the editors if it so wishes. The editors are all sub-contractors who can be dismissed at the end of their contracts. If this were the journal of a scientific society, sure, staying would have an impact.
