But I mean, they are literally meaningless. Worldometer and OWiD are great at data visualizations, but they basically just aggregate third-party data. It's completely unsurprising that the numbers they have don't add up to another dataset

True, but at the same time, I would tend to accept 10% deviation (grumbling) not 63%. Also AFAIK those comes from official reports that have letters I cannot understand and read backwards :D.

They come from publicly available reports generally, but those can be wildly divergent from the line-data in government datasets. I can tell you from experience that the actual data rarely matches the information you can download for free online very well
