The messaging has been pretty poor from day dot and ripe for this type of undermining.

Wouldn’t a heterogeneous dosing scheme help with people feeling left out of the “best” vaccines? It seems to have done so in Canada.

Death due to Delta a lot higher in vaccinated than unvaccinated in England. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/996740/Variants_of_Concern_VOC_Technical_Briefing_17.pdf …

The efficacy drama was an AZ/Oxford creation putting out press releases that required reading between the lines... little drama for vaccines with similar or lower efficacy that didn't try to sell a really bad mistake as serendipity.
-
Blood clot story not much different; much less drama for J&J with similar risk profile... because no one tried say a short safety review was actually a result of being sore over Brexit and that regulatory agencies don't understand statistics.

Do you remember when AZ cocked up their phase 3 trial data? That’s when the wheels started falling off the wagon. First they overstated the efficacy rate, then they had to admit to cocking up the dose. Then the efficacy declinedhttps://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/25/business/coronavirus-vaccine-astrazeneca-oxford.html …

Mate there's real world efficacy data from many countries across the world, it's as effective as Pfizer or Moderna or any other. Not sure I'd still be assessing the Trial data, you seem to be 6 months behind.

I’m still not sure to what extent our vaccination numbers are the result of hesitancy vs rollout speed. How can we tell?

Unfortunately this rhetoric was pushed by a number of experts the media seems to rely on for a doomsaying take at every opportunity.
-
That’s the big problem … the media won’t let them go in particular Murdoch’s sky news which is just Obsessed with them.
