If anyone's wondering, while there are few/no health benefits directly attributable to drinking coffee, there is also consistent evidence that even quite high intakes are unlikely to be harmful to your health

(Obviously this is not a blanket endorsement, if your doctor tells you to drink less coffee you probably should. If your naturopath tells you to drink less coffee, on the other hand, you should stop seeing a naturopath)

My doc said my caffeine intake was related to my heartburn, so in the last 2 months or so I've dialed it back to none, and I feel great. I've hardly strangled anyone.

Yeah, but you don't show tells for when an instant is a good substitute, how long a yerba mate detox should last, when to blend in mango, or which iced coffees and matcha are legit. Lovely otherwise.

Just saw a conference report that cites this metaanalysis, which shows fairly large apparent protection against cirrhosis. As I don't drink much coffee I'll leave you to tell others if the conclusion is sound. @ZaniaStamatakihttps://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26806124/

The data is mounting in favour of coffee's beneficial effects in liver biology. Tea drinker here too 🙋‍♀️

This is really interesting! I do myself however find it easier to ovulate properly (with descent amounts of fertile secretions) if I take less caffeine. Would be interesting to do a study on ovulating women 🍳

I think there are many health benefits with coffee consumption, starting with it's antioxidant properties. But for the dementia protection alone, I'll both drink it daily and recommend it to others. It's an essential part of a quality life.😉
