I’d find all the hand-wringing about the risks associated with taking AstroZeneca more convincing if those speaking loudest were similarly campaigning to ban button batteries and ibuprofen

Counterpoint: I reckon the amount of vaccine hesitancy in Aus is lower than media reports suggest, and it'll probably drop further once more people are vaccinated and it becomes normalized

It’s the world’s tiniest sample size, but almost all the older people I know, my parents included, are saying (or strongly implying) they won’t get AZ. By contrast all the millennials and gen X’ers I know are lining up to get it, and say they’d be happy with AZ were it on offer.

I think there's definitely an element of hesitancy in Aus, but I think it's also a bit overblown. If all of those people could book an appointment tomorrow at their GP for any vaccine, I reckon most of them would do it!
