I don’t think I’ve heard a psychiatrist or psychologist ever claim that antidepressants or antipsychotics “cure” symptoms. But yeah this is dangerous and harmful.

I guess that's what The Center for Integrated Behavioral Health is all about as there's not a single MD among their 26 staff members who all presumably feel similarly and, perhaps coincidentally, are all unlicensed to prescribe medication.

a psychotherapist is NOT a doctor ! unless he has a PhD. This is a sham and a cheat to mislead customers. I bet many think of such people as MDs.pic.twitter.com/RR9IYJIEiC

It is worse because at worst a “useless” drug will impart the default placebo effect. Alcohol on the other hand massively increases suicide risk and depression rates. It doesn’t “do nothing”, it does worse than that.

The terms "antidepressants", "antipsychotics", or " mood stabilizers" are indeed some kind of marketing, as the history of psychopharmacology reveals. The clinical efficacy varies - doesn't look good for "antidepressants".

Anti-psychotics were called “major tranquilizers” more commonly in the past. Might be harder for doctors to push them on people if the doctor wants to put you on a “major tranquilizer.”

They’re not a perfect solution, but are they even an imperfect solution? Outcomes in those illnesses have gotten worse relative to the general population, not better.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5955767/ …

Except for me who would probably be dead otherwise.
