Lots of discussion at the moment about the idea that COVID-19 was created in a lab, so I wrote about why it's unlikely despite the noisy headlines ping @MackayIM @picardonhealthhttps://gidmk.medium.com/was-covid-19-created-in-a-laboratory-88dd731c627e …

But all this talk about the origin of COVID is just thinly veiled racism at work. This is similar to the origins of HIV being used by many to attack Africans.

In a way, I agree to you but there is no harm to have proper investigation. If scientists are inquisitive to understand in depth about origin then they should be given chance. That's what Science is. Science does not believe on forced acceptance. This is what happening at present

I think it's reasonable to investigate further while acknowledging that with current evidence one explanation is far more likely than the other

The best sentence; ‘it is entirely possible that researchers studying existing coronaviruses that were natural in origin accidentally let the virus slip out’, which is absolutely TRUE.

It was very popular once to believe that the earth was flat or that the sun and planets revolved around earth. Popular political opinion is the enemy of science.

That is a straw-man and cherry picking the evidence. That headline said that. What most are saying is that the lab leak theory had gained new credibility while remaining unproven. Please be more careful in the construction of your strawmen
