Well that's true !!! But do you think this kind of thing has never happened before? The virulence-transmission trade-off hypothesis says that a virus has to balance increased shedding against a reduction in mobility if we get too sick. Isn't it obvious that viruses . . .

There's definitely a big difference initially. Then the epidemic dies out,... or becomes endemic (& seasonal in temperate climates). We're transitioning to an endemic situation with SARS-CoV2. All other human coronaviruses are seasonal & evidence suggests this one will be too.
