G'day #ScienceTwitter. Melbourne is heading back into winter. What's the state of the evidence for COVID-19 and seasonality/cold-weather?
Even your graph doesn't really show seasonality. North America has an almost constant increase starting in summer (mostly driven by the US), and south America has a plateau in the winter that carries through to the summer and then a large increase (probably due to testing)

Do you think it was a coincidence that Europe & N America were hit by C19 in autumn? Like 1918 flu. I thought seasonality of respiratory viruses was a given It's true - but extraordinary - that pretty well all resp illnesses are more common in winter.
