Mostly similar - very few places saw an increase in suicides during 2020, and some of those that did explicitly didn't lock down (I.e. Japan)

New York was one of those places. The key is how long was the lockdown. The longer the lockdown, the more you saw suicide spike.

This is not true at all. A good example is Victoria in Australia which had the longest total 2020 lockdown and no increase in suicide during or after. It is simply not the case that lockdowns are generally associated with increased suicides

And yet, suicides didn't rise. One explanation is that these services were effective
