The move some make from "it's immoral / unbiblical" to "it should be illegal" is weird to me, especially for same-sex marriage, adultery, etc., but even so for abortion. I don't get using the state to force someone to keep someone else in their body against their will.

There are some studies that supposedly show bans do decrease abortions overall, I'll try to find links (if you're not already familiar with them. I was hoping you might do a critique.)

I was in med tech school just before Roe v Wade and personally saw 2 deaths (with misleading death certificates because they were white girls from good families). They made it to ICU before dying. I wasn't in ER where the DOA victims came.
