No specific comment on anyone, but I do find it quite funny how so many people think that calling someone a "communist" is insulting Trust me, most communists find it to be more of a compliment

Same is true for socialism. Most public health people are a bit on the socialist side, accusing them of being socialists is just...true?

I mean, I'm not a very good socialist, communist, or really any particular political philosophy, but I don't think that any of them are very insulting either way

Not only that they think it's insulting, but that they apply it as an all-purpose insult to people who are not within light-years of an actual communist ideology.

What I find offensive is the stupidity of people who think current PH measures are "communist". How? Is it a prelude to the collectivization of the means of production? Abolishment of private property & inheritance? They mean authoritarian but are too dumb to know the difference.

When debunk climate science denialism, I'm called an anti-business communist. When I say I'm Christian + debunk GMO denialism, I'm called a pro-business Republican. When I defend vaccine mandates, I'm called a fascist. That reveals more about those making the comments, than me

Re: "When [I] debunk climate science denialism, I'm called an anti-business communist." Apparently I'm also a Satanist. I look forward to Judas Iscariot showing up on "The Chosen". But I don't think that makes me a Satanist. 🤔 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBXOFnNTULFaAnj24PAeblg … https://twitter.com/unabgehangte/status/1397731644296028164 …pic.twitter.com/rGRonFP4nV

Every time I get called a communist it only makes me stronger because it comes from the world’s most disagreeable people

Now that you mention it... If anyone calls me capitalist I'll probably be surprised (who does that) but also a little bit offended coz American style naked capitalism is horrible.

Those using it as an insult these days have changed the meaning to encompass “evil” in general — and use the word in ways that don’t even make sense.

By the same logic, calling a person a "nazi" can't be insulting since most nazis would find it to be more of a compliment anyway. It should actually be disturbing that they don't because the modern society doesn't realize they're simply two sides of the same totalitarian coin.
