Perhaps more importantly, it is fundamentally unscientific to argue that someone's publication record makes any difference to the truth of their arguments

Indeed, it appears that Levitt's dislike of this paper is that it mentions him by name, rather than any problem with the academic quality of the workpic.twitter.com/1RLVD2P2cI

Presumably, given that the only argument being made here is that the lead authors are not senior academics, Dr. Levitt agrees with the content of the paper in its entirety and has no scientific objection to it whatsoever

Could someone explain to me Levitt's complaint? I don't see Ioannidis referenced in any way in this paper. Crystal Lee is lead author of the paper. Why is he accusing MIT of dismissing Ioannidis? Why is he comparing Ioannidis's cites to Lee's?

Academic bullying at the highest level! This is unacceptable.

Science should not be seen as a competition. Pele has a successful CV in football, but no one would include him in a team today. He is old but not useless, but he would fall behind young players. Is it fair that "senior" researchers bully junior ones with a long CV?

I could use some context here. What paper are we talking about?
