I think in the United States there is a lot of overlap between well-credentialed experts and careerist, self-serving and attention-seeking behavior, and that helps explain the skewed range of debate and poor health outcomes

I wonder to what extent this is a function of high income inequality. Credentialed experts may feel a lot of pressure to self-promote in order to try to keep up with their higher-paid counterparts in industry, finance, etc.

Not dying of COVID-19 would be really nice! I’m sure many doctors/nurses are looking forward to work days without hot as hell PPE. Personally I really miss live music and art galleries. Post pandemic parties will be so LIT. Probably some time before we can do this safely though.
