As one of the authors of this study, I think it's fair to say that this is not a correct interpretation of the researchhttps://twitter.com/abirballan/status/1373689805867999235 …

You think it is unfair to interpret that children and young people have an IFR that is close to zero?

We changed that line in the final paper for a reason - have a look at the published version. It's also not correct to argue that this risk is ~literally~ zero. The risk of vaccination may be far lower than the risk of COVID-19 even for childrenhttps://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10654-020-00698-1 …

.Are you trying to convince me that an IFR of 0.002% to 0.01% is not close to zero? Forcing C19 vaccines on children and young people is absolutely unethical but you are free to vaccinate your own children although that would really be an uneducated decision.

In children, the IFR from COVID-19 is around 1 death per 15-100k infections. The death rate from licensed vaccines appears to be around 1 per 500k-5million. I'm not sure what is "uneducated" about weighing those risks logically and deciding studies are a good idea
